What if I told you that you could spend a weekend in Cyprus, still be back to work in Lebanon before Monday, and experience everything — including Mass — in just 48 hours?

I found a round-trip flight for just $184 with Cyprus Airways. It leaves Beirut on June 6 at around 2 PM and returns on June 7 at around 9 PM — which gives us just over 30 hours on the ground. So every minute matters.

Since we only have one night, we keep accommodation simple.

I found a place called City View Rooms — a homestay in Larnaca, about 10 minutes from the airport.

It’s also walking distance from Finikoudes Beach, Europe Square, and Saint Lazarus Church.

It’s a private room with shared bathroom and kitchen, and in summer you really need to book early since places like this go fast.

🌊 DAY 1 

As soon as you arrive and check in, you realize something immediately — everything is close.

The city is walkable, and most of what you need is just a few minutes away.

First stop: Finikoudes Beach.

Palm trees, cafés, and the sea all in one straight line. This is where you slow down for the first time, grab something to eat, and realize you’re actually here.

As the sun starts to set, you walk toward the end of the promenade.

Larnaca Castle is right by the water, and it becomes one of the best sunset spots in the city.

It’s simple — but the mix of sea, light, and silence makes it feel like more than just another stop.

After sunset, the city slows down.

You walk back along the beach, grab a cheap dinner nearby, and just take in the fact that everything you’ve done today didn’t require stress, transport, or planning.

⛪ DAY 2 — MORNING MASS

Day two starts early — because in a 48-hour trip, mornings matter just as much.

First stop is church.

Church of Saint Lazarus is one of the most important landmarks in the city.

The Mass here is in Greek, since it’s part of the Orthodox tradition. So you won’t understand every word, but you still feel the rhythm, the atmosphere, and the experience.

And if you prefer something in English, there’s also Our Lady of Graces Catholic Church, where you can attend a full English Mass instead.

After Mass, you step into a completely different rhythm.

Europe Square is where the city opens up — cafés, historical buildings, and open space where you can just sit and breathe.

From there, you walk toward the water again — because in Larnaca, everything leads back to the sea.

The Larnaca Marina is calm in the morning. Boats, yachts, and fishing vessels all side by side.

Nearby, you can also visit the small Byzantine museum connected to Saint Lazarus — a quiet stop that adds context to what you saw earlier at the church.

After that, the rest of the day is simple.

One last walk along the promenade. One last coffee by the sea. Maybe one last look at the water.

And then you start heading back toward the airport — just 10 to 15 minutes away.

And that’s the point of this trip.

Not to see everything. Not to rush. But to show that even with limited time, you can still experience a full European weekend.

Now if we break it down — the flight is $184, accommodation is around $45, and the rest of the trip including transport, food, and small expenses brings it to roughly $80 to $90.

That means the total cost of this entire 48-hour trip in Cyprus comes to around $315.
